Cherished Valentine

Hi!

I hope you're having a great day! It's cloudy (again) and freezing rain outside - very good day to be in stamping! Sorry for the header here - working on fixing that!

This card was completed for Joan's Gardens #2 weekly challenge (JG1311). The creation had to include a heart, bow, paper with a stripe, and some kind of embellishment.

The base of the card is Bazill; the floral paper is Anna Griffin, and the striped paper is from my stash. My embellishment is the label using Fancy Tags by Spellbinders; the heart and label are popped up. The ribbon is a beautiful brown satin by Offray. The sentiment was computer generated.

Well, we're expecting more snow, single-digit temps, and, I'm sure, more cloudy skies, so I plan on staying in and stamping and working on my craft room.

Hope you all have a great day! Thanks for visiting!

Pretty Princess Birthday

Hi, all!

Thanks for checking in! It's nice and warm as long as I stay inside! The snow is beautiful - very gently falling on the woods, creating a gorgeous white wonderland out my back door.

Well, we just celebrated our twin granddaughters' 5th birthday. How excited they were and what a great feeling to have them so excited to see Mom-mom and Pop-pop (or was it the gifts we were bringing? HA!). Our family all had a fun, wonderful time with the kids. I love to hear my Olivia and Taylor laugh - their laugh, by all who know them, is so hearty and full of joy!

They love princesses, so I made them these stairstep cards for their birthdays.

The images were found online in a search for Disney princess clipart (sorry, not sure where - I searched for quite a while for the right images). Our girls have to have "the same, but different" (their words) things in everything they get - quite competitive little girls! So, as you can see, the clipart images are a bit different, but everything else on the cards is the same.

I love stairstep cards, but had only done one once before. I had great fun putting these together. The paper is a combination of SU dp and cardstock. The castle is a digital image from Squigglefly, and the gorgeous unicorn is a digital from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff found in her Pretty Princess set at http://www.shophandmade.com/Item/6-758-H619QUU. As you may be able to see, the horses hooves, tail and mane as well as the flags on the castle are covered with diamond Stickles. The castle and the white in the horse's tail/mane were colored with Prismacolor pencils. The blue SU cs under the castle was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.

The sentiment was created by me in Word, punched with an SU oval punch, and mounted on SU cardstock. The crown is a brad from Creative Imaginations that I purchased at Michael's.

I am submitting Olivia's card to the Squigglefly's SFC8o "Put Your Heart Into It" challenge.

Have a great day!

Kris
